How to play Viisi
Viisi is a mindful daily puzzle. You receive five letters and must craft five different words using all of them. Every player worldwide solves the same board each day, so your streak is part of a shared ritual.
The Basics
Simple rules keep Viisi approachable while still offering satisfying depth.
- Use every letter once per word.
- Words must be in the official Viisi dictionary—no abbreviations or names.
- Each row holds one word. Lock it in to move to the next row—five locked rows wins the day.
- Leaving the game mid-row clears the partially typed words. Commit before you wander!
- Some puzzles hide bonus words. Find one and its tiles turn gold for extra points.
- Level-up your vocabulary! After you win a game click the words to reveal definitions.
- Hungry for more games? Go to the archive and play games in the past.
- A new puzzle unlocks every day at 06:00 UTC, the same board for every player worldwide.
Helpful Tools
Use these options if you feel stuck—your stats will note when hints are involved.
Reveal
Ready to surrender? Reveal uncovers every answer in the current puzzle. There is no undo—the day counts as played but not solved, so your streak ends.
Reset
Replay any puzzle from a clean board. Your original score, time, and stats are frozen and never change—a replay is just for fun.
Expert Mode
Turn it on in Settings when the daily board stops fighting back. It becomes the default for new games.
No hints
Hints are switched off entirely. It is you, five letters, and the dictionary.
Three strikes
Three invalid submissions end the game. Think before you lock in a word.
Locked in
A puzzle keeps the mode it started in, so switching the setting never changes a game already in progress.
Scoring
Every win is scored. Your score drives your performance stats and the celebration screen breakdown. See the full scoring breakdown.
20 points per word
Credited the moment you lock in a correct word—you don't have to finish to start earning.
+20 for finishing
All 5 words locked in adds a completion bonus. Expert Mode adds +30 more on top.
+25 per bonus word
Each Special Word you submit adds 25 points. Hints will never hand you one.
-10 per hint
Each hinted row costs 10 points. Skip both for a clean sheet.
Reveal the solution or fail out of Expert Mode and you keep the points for every word you'd already completed—only the completion bonus is lost.
Badges
Badges are your Viisi bragging rights. Trophies that prove you're on a roll. Stack wins, keep your streak alive, and chase "perfect runs" to light them up on your Home screen.

Solve 5 daily puzzles in 5 consecutive days (archive doesn't count).
25 Wins
Reach twenty-five lifetime Viisi victories.
